Virtual Styling: Take 1

One of my goals for 2013 is to break into fashion in a more tangible way. Don't get me wrong, I love blogging and sharing my finds, steals and deals with you all here at BOTO, but I feel a constant tug at my heartstrings to work in the fashion industry in a more hands-on capacity. So I'm super excited to have my first opportunity at a virtual styling gig!

A friend of mine suggested my services to an acquaintance looking for styling help. From that connection, a skype convo took place. Now, I've taken her on as a client and we're currently working through looks to add to her wardrobe.

My client's ideal look is Scandal's Oliva Pope meets Rihanna. . .

Yes, two VERY different looks, I know.

So I've been working with lots of color and texture to try and merge the two styles. So far, here is what I've put together so far:

Classic + Tailored with Feminine Details.

 Playful. Relaxed. On-trend.

Soft silhouettes with minimal accessories.

I'm still hard at work pulling together ensembles, so let me know what you think of what I've done so far!

Also, if you're interested in styling services (virtual or in-person) for a big night out, an upcoming job interview or curious to try out a new you, send me an email to brainsoftheoutfit@gmail.com ! I'd love to go shopping with you!

  1. Your client has big money. I'm loving that Chanel bag with the peplum dress, but that Pussy Bow Blouse in Style #1 is my FAVORITE! I love those!

    1. The looks are for visual inspiration, so the pulls don't have to be literal. We're going for looks vs. brands/labels. Now that we have the style in place, you can shop for interpretations of those looks! I shop smart and want my clients to do so as well!
