Sometimes it's easier to go straight to your closet and mix and match what you already own. These six items (blazer, denim shorts, printed shoe, white tee, bib neckalce and statement bag) are essential pieces for every woman's wardrobe, and look great standing alone or placed together for a complete look.

Not to mention, I refuse to let the summer go by without my donning a pair of denim shorts with a blazer. Must, must, must!

Do you currently own any of these pieces in your wardrobe? How would you pair this easy ensemble? Leave a comment for me below!

Last night I attended a fabulous event hosted by the wonderful ladies of EDEN BodyWorks at the
W Hotel Atlanta Downtown to present their latest product offerings from the coconut shea collection.

I'm sure all my curly girls are quite familiar with the brand. But, if you're not, this all natural hair and body care line is choc-full of wellness and beauty products inspired by nature to restore and maintain the body's original design. And I must say, last night's panel discussion was a great opportunity for me to learn more about their products as well.

As for the event, the conversations were hilarious and honest, the food was amazing, and it felt so good to be among a collective of amazing (and quite fashionable!) women together on a journey to optimal health and well being.

I tried to pay as close attention to what was going on on the stage, but every now and then I couldn't resist the chance to snap a few pics of a few of my favorite looks during the event!

Jasmine Lawrence, Founder of EDEN Bodyworks

Gorgeous model. Obsessed with her printed pants and cute curly cut!

A special thank you to blogger BabyShopaholic for the invitation. Can't wait to start using my products at home! And if you're interested in trying out a few of the products from EDEN Bodyworks, you can find them on shelves at Walmart, Walgreens and of course, their website here!

I've been a fan of one-piece confections ever since I was a little girl. But these sophisticated jumpers are definitely for the grown-up girl with a flair for fashion.

What do you think about the jumper trend? Is it a look that you're interested in? Leave a comment for me below!

Nothing looks better on chocolate or sun-kissed skin than stark white. Minimalistic and authentically chic, a pair of pumps, sheath dress, mani/pedi and smart bag in all white will always get a resounding YES! from me. Pair together monochromatically and wear as your "signature" color or intersperse for contrast to whatever palette you're currently rocking.

I've got a ton of things lined up for this weekend. Here are the highlights!

Beer drinkers and dead heads unite! Tomorrow starts the annual SweetWater 420 festival. I've missed this event EVERY YEAR since moving here. But seeing as how the Mr. is a beer enthusiast, I'm going to humor him with my presence.

Happy Friday. Let's get right to it, shall we?

Celebs walking around with bar nameplates by designer Jennifer Meyer is currently all the rage in Hollywood. Clearly everything comes full circle, because these things were the bomb when I was in middle school (wait: did I just show my age by calling something "the bomb?" I digress.)

So, after my good friends at People Style Watch (#stylehunters unite!) posted this photo online yesterday of Jessica Alba's nameplate adorned with her daughter's names, I figured I'd rush over to this website and place an order.

Did that price tag say $1,250? Not to get too personal on y'all, but that's my mortgage AND two utility bills for the month. Needless to say I didn't add this to my shopping cart, real or imagined.

But I did recollect a search I conducted a while back on Walmart.com in the jewelry department (don't ask) and remembered seeing these babies:

Le Bam!

Now, I'm not going to spark a "chicken or the egg" debate on who did what first. Nor, am I going to get all moral and philosophical and judge whether or not you shop at Walmart (because I'm sure you've ignored heard those sweatshop rumors about Forever21 and Zara. Again, I digress).

What I do know is a good deal is a good deal. And these nameplates will do the trick if you want fast fashion on a budget. Prices start at $79. And if there is no Wally World in your neck of the woods, you can order yours online here.

Just call me your fairy budget Godmother. Who happens to shop at Walmart.

If you're not "up" on your urban vernacular, "thirsty" is a term loosely used to describe an individual who is obsessed with or really pathetic in wanting someone or something. Clearly not a term you'd want to be associated with.

So today I take the power away from that word (hooray for the feminist in me!) and will turn it around to use it in a more positive light. Introducing: Thirsty Thursday! It's the one day of the week where I will post anything I good and darn well please, regardless of its price tag or ridiculous nature.

So for the inaugural TT, I had to post this bad-a$$ bodycon dress by Clover Canyon.

Orchid Tip Dress, $246 | via

There's no rhyme or reason as to why I like this dress so much. It just IS. Actually, I've become a big fan of the Clover Canyon line (SoCal eccentricity at its best), and it's about time I posted something from the label. So take it all in, folks. And if you're not familiar, get up on it.

As for the lesson in urban speak, you're welcome.

Unless you've been in a coma for about the past 12 months, then you should be well aware of the popularity surrounding the printed pants trend. Spotted on just about every starlet and style setter from Cassie to Rita Ora to Rihanna and Beyonce, this holdover from last season is definitely here to stay in 2013.

While printed pants do give off a cool and relaxed vibe, the trend isn't the easiest to style.

My advice: if going the b&w route, opt for a top or shoe with a pop of color (or both!). But, if you want your pants to do all the talking, try a muted top and color-coordinated accessories.

Like so:
