I feel like such a dork when it comes to taking these "What I Wore Today" photos. Mainly because it's a really contrived concept and I never know what to do with my hands or if I should look directly into the camera. I consider myself quasi camera shy. Quasi because I LOVE to take Instagram pics. But OOTD photos give me maj anxiety; mostly because I'm opening myself up to critique from others and allowing all my vulnerability to show. I love clothes, and consider myself to be a pretty confident person overall, but we all know how mean these Interweb streets can be..especially when it comes to fashion.
But on to the clothes . . .
I typically never wear orange and black together for fear of looking like a walking jack-o-lantern, but I felt good about this ensemble. I picked up both the polka dot blouse and black oxford blazer from Target over the weekend, and the orange cropped trousers from GAP and the booties from Nine West have been mainstays in my closet for a little over a year now. I don't care what anyone says...a black blazer is HANDS DOWN the best investment you can make for your wardrobe. It goes with everything.
By the way, have you checked out the new fall looks from the Merona for Women collection at Target? Lots of trendy-yet-work-appropiate finds at great prices. The blouse I'm wearing also comes in a navy and black polka dot, an animal print, and some solid colors. Don't be surprised if I end up buying them all. At $19 a pop, who could blame me?
p.s.: thanks to my buddy Traci J. being such a good sport about snapping this pic of me on our lunch break!
