BOUTIQUES WE LOVE: STEP INTO STYLE

This past weekend I had a chance to celebrate the grand opening of Step Into Style, a new women's clothing boutique located in Douglasville, just a few minutes outside the city, west of downtown Atlanta. The owner, Chenelle Loggins, is a childhood friend of mine and I was so excited to see her dream of owning her own brick-and-mortar location come true!

I love the store's hot  pink, black and white color scheme (very chic), and Chenelle even put her DIY interior design skills to the test by framing popular Vogue magazine covers and adding them to the  walls as decor (think your dream master closet).

On to the clothes...

I had a chance to catch a quick conversation with the stylish owner to ask her a few questions about her latest venture. Read on below...

Chenelle Loggins, owner, Step Into Style

{1.} When did your love of fashion start?
I have loved fashion ever since I can remember. I used to take my mom's Ebony magazines and cut out the models like Iman and Cynthia Bailey and play paper dolls with them.

{2.} Tell us a little bit about the brands you carry at Step Into Style?
I carry boutique brands that have a little uniqueness to them. I like to call it affordable luxury because I shop for brands that are well made that I can price affordably.

Fashion runs in the family. Chenelle poses here with her stylish dad!

{3.} Who are some of your style inspirations?
I love the glamour of Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe and the chic, ladylike styles from Grace Kelly and Jackie Kennedy. My style inspirations also include Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Obama, and Rachel Zoe.

{4.} What kind of girl shops at SIS?
The modern girl that loves fashion but doesn't want to spend her entire paycheck on an outfit. She's a girl always on-the-go that appreciates style.

Friends make the best customers!

{5.} How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is reflected in the clothes that I carry at the store because I don't purchase anything for the store that I would not wear so I would say my style is old hollywood glamour with a modern twist.

{6.} Do you see yourself expanding into more locations or adding things like accessories/shoes to your current location?
Definitely.. I hope to add accessories in the next three months and hopefully open another location in Atlanta within three years!

I even picked up a cute little maxi number that I can't wait to wear on my upcoming vacation!

If you're soon traveling OTP and looking for a great stop to get your fashion fix, check out my friends at Step Into Style Boutique, 3003 Highway 5, Douglasville, GA.
